ILP “Design” – Photoshop

I designed a cover page for my class syllabus/poster for my classroom. Here is a screenshot of my work. I made my artwork more cartoony and fun in hopes that the students would like it. I hope you enjoy! I can email you the photoshop file if you would like.

Blog Journal #10

As a future social science college professor, data collection and reporting (Excel) tools will prove to be very useful. I can use Excel to create visual aids for lectures, class lecture schedules, course to-do lists, virtual timelines for events, and rubrics for assignments. I will use data-collection to survey my students on the course. This will help me improve my teaching and my students' learning! There were various topics I found interesting while viewing other classmates' blogs. I really enjoyed prompts that called for personal opinions, such as their experiences with Twitter, and Diigo. It's interesting to see how my fellow classmates are feeling about similar subjects that I am writing about. Furthermost, my favorite blogs had to do with how my classmates plan on implementing technologies in their own classroom one day. Blog Journal #9

I adore flipped classrooms! I first experienced one in my eighth grade Algebra 1 class. My teacher, Mr.Baugus, originally created screen videos of himself teaching the lecture by reading the material off the screen and demonstrating examples. However, during class time, he assigned homework for us to do either alone or in groups. This way, if we didn't understand the material he could provide hands on teaching in class to multiple students at once. This method proved highly effective and he received many awards for teaching and was eventually awarded a grant to develop personalized videos. The summer before my ninth grade I helped him record introductions, video examples, and skits for these videos. They are still in use today.
