I went onto the Chiles High School website. From here I selected "Fine & Performing Arts" link and was directed to various fine art teachers and their class websites. Publicly, I saw a synopsis of the teacher's past education and job experiences. Additionally, various links were provided to give extra information on the classes taught, a class calendar, and announcements regarding multiple classes.

I envision using various technologies in the classroom as a professional educator. I want to use a class website to effectively communicate to my students about outside homework. Additionally, I would like to use Remind to help students stay aware of upcoming projects and assignments. Finally, I'd like to incorporate podcasts as a form of learning in my classroom. I feel as though they help audio learners like myself, and hold the attention of students better than independent reading.

While visiting the Technology Sandbox I learned how to use a Smart Board. I feel as though this technology would prove to be very helpful in a classroom environment. It acts as a large computer screen with touch screen technology. This allows teachers to present information and lecture power points easier. In addition, the Smart Board allows for students to go up and interact in live time with various tools and programs provided.

I found various Web 2.0 technologies such as blogs and twitter to be very useful in a classroom setting. Classroom blogs easily allow students and teachers to effectively communicate and share ideas on a digital platform. Twitter's modalities such as tweeting and sharing information can also be helpful in an educational setting. Due to many students already being familiar with Twitter and it's functions, it makes for an easy introduction in the class curriculum. Conversely, I found Web 2.0 technologies such as Wiki and Diigo to be less useful. Both are often unfamiliar to students, so additional instruction and training is needed to effectively use these sites.
