I believe there are various benefits to using Twitter. It allows people to network, engage in social media, and communicate and share ideas anywhere in the world. While using Twitter I've learned to better summarize my statements to fit a 140 character count. However, I have not enjoyed using Twitter in an academic setting. Rather than engaging and exchanging information, I find students to randomly post statements just to achieve a grade. In my opinion, there are other technologies that would be of better use in a classroom (i.e. Diigo).

I picked up multiple skills while working on my Web Page Design. I learned the value of color schemes and a e s t h e t i c s, how to eliminate negative space, and how to effectively hyper link and insert media into a website. Although I appreciate Weebly's help in using the grid system, I found it hard to drag and drop text boxes and images into desired positions. Now that I understand the various modalities of Weebly, I will be able to create a website in a more time-efficient matter. In the future, I plan on using the skills I've learned during my Web Page Design project to create resumes, personal blogs, and real class websites.

I have found Diigo to be an incredibly helpful tool in the classroom. I have learned how to efficiently bookmark, annotate websites, and communicate and comment through groups. In my individual professional life, I plan to use Diigo to help me conduct research as a future professor. This will allow me to bookmark, highlight, and comment on sections of websites I find useful. In a classroom, I will use Diigo to help students communicate and share with each other different websites that could be found useful for class projects or assignments. When working in a team, Diigo will prove to be very useful in communicating and sharing ideas across websites. Overall, I was very skeptical of Diigo at first, but I've grown to love the program and plan on using it proficiently in my future endeavors.
